Want to Apply for the Canadian Experience Class Program in Canada?

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration program for skilled workers who already have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. This program is managed by the Express Entry system. People who are eligible for the CEC get a score on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds Express Entry draws inviting the highest scoring candidates to apply for Canadian immigration. If you’re ready to apply for the CEC immigration program, ABCan Immigration is here to help you. We will assist you throughout the application process to increase your chances of getting accepted as a permanent resident of Canada.

Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program Eligibility

The CEC is part of the immigration programs by Canada’s federal and provincial governments to encourage more temporary foreign skilled workers and international students to build their futures in Canada. International students who have graduated from an eligible educational program in Canada can gain permanent residence through the CEC. Temporary foreign workers can become eligible for the Canadian Experience Class program if they have obtained one year of professional work experience in Canada. In order to be eligible to apply under the CEC you must meet the following requirements:

Federal Skilled
Worker Program

This category includes foreign workers with experience in managerial, professional, or technical jobs. This category uses a 100-point grid to determine eligibility. You will need 67 points to pass this gridding system.

Federal Skilled
Trades Program

This program for Express Entry is applicable for a wide variety of industries, such as chefs, industrial, electrical, and construction trades. For this category, you need at least 2 years of working experience in the specific industry or trade within the last 5 years before you apply for the visa.

Canadian
Experience Class

This class asks for Canadian experience in managerial, professional, or technical jobs but it doesn’t use a point gridding system. You need at least 1 year of Canadian experience within the last 3 years before you apply for the visa.

How Does Canadian Experience Class Application Work?

Get a Work Permit

Take Language Test

You need to obtain at least 1,560 hours of Canadian work experience in a NOC 0, A, or B job. Then, take an English or French language test designated by IRCC.

Enter Express Entry Pool

Yes, as long as you meet the CEC's eligibility criteria.

No. Unlike the FSWP and FSTP immigration programs, you do not need to demonstrate proof of funds if you successfully obtain an immigration invitation under the CEC.

    2) A CLB of at least 5 across all four abilities is the requirement if you work in a NOC skill level job of B.
