The Express Entry system is one of the most popular ways of immigrating to Canada. It is a direct pathway to immigrate to Canada for skilled workers or people who have Canadian work experience. Express Entry is also one of the fastest ways to apply for Canadian permanent residence. If you want to immigrate to Canada through Express Entry, our team at ABCan Immigration will help you get an Invitation to Apply and quickly process your immigration application.

Federal Skilled
Worker Program

This category includes foreign workers with experience in managerial, professional, or technical jobs. This category uses a 100-point grid to determine eligibility. You will need 67 points to pass this gridding system.

Federal Skilled
Trades Program

This program for Express Entry is applicable for a wide variety of industries, such as chefs, industrial, electrical, and construction trades. For this category, you need at least 2 years of working experience in the specific industry or trade within the last 5 years before you apply for the visa.

Canadian
Experience Class

This class asks for Canadian experience in managerial, professional, or technical jobs but it doesn’t use a point gridding system. You need at least 1 year of Canadian experience within the last 3 years before you apply for the visa.

Different Canadian Provinces and Territories also select candidates through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) under the Express Entry system to cope with their labor market needs and shortages.

How Express Entry Application Works

Two of the documents you will need to start are English and/or French language test results and in some cases an Education Credential Assessment if you completed your studies outside of Canada to show that you’re eligible for Express Entry.

Submit Your Profile

You will have to create your Express Entry profile online with the information required by Immigration Canada and then submit it online.

Get an Invitation to Apply

Once your Express Entry profile has been submitted, Immigration Canada will rank and award you points. If you are highly ranked, you will be invited to apply for permanent residence as a skilled immigrant.
